THE FOLLOWING ISSUE WILL BE ON THE MARCH 9, 2010, SPECIAL ELECTION BALLOT:
Measure 4-151 - CITY OF GEARHART
CITY OF GEARHART GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND AUTHORIZATION
Question: Shall the City be authorized to issue general obligation bonds in an amount not exceeding $4,000,000? If the bonds are approved, they will be payable from taxes on property or property ownership that are not subject to the limits of sections 11 and 11b, Article XI of the Oregon Constitution.
Summary: This measure may be passed only at an election with at least 50 percent voter turnout. If approved, this measure provides additional funds to the City to finance the costs of capital construction and capital improvements for the City's already under construction water system (the "System") including, but not limited to, providing funds to:
*construct and equip water filtration and treatment facilities;
*design and construct reservoir;
*upgrade and improve existing water mains;
*install new tennis courts; and *pay bond issuance costs.
The bonds will mature in forty (40) years or less.
